Union Member
What is a union? It is all of us, united to secure our rights. Our union is only as strong as we are -as individuals and as a group. Our union will get stronger as we become more active, knowledgeable and committed to success. You must be an active participant for our union to work.
Rights
You are protected by law, to form and/or join a union, free from
coercion or interference from management.
You have the right to request a union representative's presence in any meeting with management for disciplinary purposes.
You have the right to a voice and vote in setting the rules which govern the activities of your local union - to run for office, to nominate and vote for candidates, to vote in elections and amendments.
You have the right to a voice in determining the contract issues and in contract ratification to set the terms and conditions of the workplace.
You have the right to a secret vote on any proposed dues increase.
You have the right to review and vote on Local 2 expenditures at membership meetings
You have the right to be an active participant in you union - setting priorities, developing programs, and keeping your union strong.
