Wages applied equally & fairly based on seniority and job class, not favoritism
Bonuses, in addition to wages Performance Sharing: 3% each year: 2006-2011 based Kaiser's performance 
not individual performance appraisals.
Salary & Job Evaluations Union & Kaiser will evaluate all jobs to determine that all jobs are 
properly classified for rate of pay, wage grades and job classification and
shall be adjusted upward if needed, not downward.
Job Classications Included All jobs from medical clerks, customer services, mailing, 
medical asst., opticians, therapists, technicians & more
Seniority Your seniority is the length of service with Kaiser Mid-Atlantic. 
You will NOT be a new hire, but given full service credit for seniority.
Seniority is relevant in: wages, promotions, transfers, vacations, holidays,  
severance pay, layoffs and overtime.
Differential Weekend $1.50 more per hour on a Sat. or Sun.
After 4:00 pm $1.50 more per hour
Shift 11:00p - 6:00a is $2.50 more per hour
Health Insurance Sliding Scale
also in 2006: $217.21 a lump sum paid Kaiser Signature: Family plan
bonus to help defer the cost of 1. Up to $35,000:   $1.00 
health insurance premium 2. $35001-70,000:  $1.97
3. Over $70,000:     $2.96
Point of Service: Family Plan
1. Up to $35,000:   0-5 yr $17.16  6-10 yr: $16.16  11-15 yr: $15.18  15+ yrs:  $14.18  
2. $35,001-70,000: 0-5 yr $21.08  6-10 yr: $19.13  11-15 yr: $17.15  15+ yrs:  $15.10
3. Over $70,000:    0-5 yr  $25.04  6-10 yr: $22.07  11-15 yr:  $17.70  15+ yrs: $16.16 
Dental Yes, Delta; Kaiser pays; No deductible, 80/20; $1,000 max per
person; and Local 2 has a plan for $39.00 yr that pays most of what Delta does not
Job Security A. If your is job eliminated Kaiser must find you a job & train you for it 
B. Your current rate of pay maintained for up to one year
C. If no job is available you are paid 1 week for each year of
employment and health insurance for each year up to 10 yrs. 
D. You are given 8 weeks prior notice of job elimination
E.   Employees facing layoff may claim the job of the
least senior employee in the the layoff employee's
classification if s/he has seniority and ability.
F.  Laid off employees have the right for re-hire for 1 yr.
Grievance Process A.  Employees shall not be disciplined, suspended or
discharged without just cause. It is the right of
employees to have the shop steward at disciplinary
meetings and at investigatory meetings which may 
lead to disciplinary actions.
B.  Discipline expires one year after one year provided
there have been no reoccurences in the previous 
12 months
Vacation Bank A.  20 days after 9 years, maximum accumulation 40 days
B.  Front Loaded, may be taken immediately
Sick Leave Bank A.  12 days yr; Front Loaded; No Maximum Accumulation; keep what you have now.
B. Taken immediately when sick; you will NOT use Vacation when you are sick. 
C. Cash Out Sick Leave: at the end of each year an  
Employee who has a minimum of 10 days of sick leave
in the Sick Leave Bank may: 
1. Leave the sick leave days in the bank
2. Cash out unused annual sick leave at 50% value
3. Upon retirement an employee would be able to convert
50% of all sick leave accrued into paid time that s/he could
use to retire early; opticians keep all sick lv they have now
Personal Leave Bank 3 days per year, used in 2 hr increments; maximum 5 days
and can cash out at 50% value; Front Loaded
Pension Yes, Kaiser Mid-Atlantic Employees Pension Plan 1.4% of final 
average pay times years of credited service, increasing to 1.45% in 2009. 
ALL credits, years of service and vesting credits  remain as they are currently.
Tax Sheltered Annuity Yes, employee may contribute pre-tax. A performance-based Contribution of 1%
will be made when region's performance equals or exceeds budgeted margin.
Beginning Jan. 1, 2008 and continuing throughout the contract a match program
will paid in addition to the performance-based opportunity described above.
This program will match 100% of the employee's contribution up to 1.25%.
ALL credits, years of service and vesting credits remain as they are currently.
Short Term Disability Yes, Kaiser pays
Long Term Disability Option to buy
Retiree Health Yes, 25 yrs or more service, Kaiser pays $65. toward Part B
FLEX Spending Account Yes, employee may contribute pre-tax
Dependent Care Reimbursement Yes, Tax exempt payroll deductions to cover dependent care
expenses, such as payments to day care centers, nursery
schools and adult dependent care centers.
Term Life Kaiser pays for 1 X salary; option to purchase more
Union Dues and Fees No Fees; Dues are $35.77per month or $1.19 per day
Pay no dues until you vote and accept your contract AND all initiation fees waived
