OPEIU LOCAL 2 Helps Promote Student Success in Education with School Supplies Donations to under-privileged Students in the Washington Metropolitan Area. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Rock Creek Park, Washington, DC, 8/26/17 - Office and Professional Employees International Union, AFL-CIO. (OPEIU) Local 2, a leading provider of services to more than 6,000 working people in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia and proponent of protecting and improving conditions in the jobs and in lives of members in over 100 shops, is giving back to the community with a donation of school supplies to under-privileged students in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Starting school with the proper school supplies promotes learning and helps keep kids in school! Since our inception we have negotiated and enforced contracts, lobbied legislatures and Congress, and trained union leaders and members. And, we constantly work to defend our members' rights. It's only natural that we take an interest in the education and development of the young minds which may become our future members! So, for the first time ever, we are coordinating a School Supply Drive! We need your help to make this inaugural event a success! Would you please coordinate with your co-workers, friends and family to help make our School Supply Drive a success? You can bring your donations of K-12 School Supplies to our Drop Box at our Member Appreciation Summer BBQ or email [email protected] to schedule a pickup. Can we count on you?
