1/19/2021 OPEIU Members Lead Election Efforts - A Thanks from OPEIU International President Richard Lanigan
When your grandchildren ask you where you were and what you did to stop a president who incited an armed, angry mob of people that stormed the U.S. Capitol in an effort to intimidate lawmakers doing the country’s work, you can tell them you worked hard to get a new government elected, one that was not divisive in its policies and initiatives, one that had the back of working people, one that had people from diverse backgrounds working in the highest positions in government and one that actually did something to protect Americans from a terrible pandemic virus. You can tell them that instead of turning your back, you worked for change. You can tell them that your work supported a popular movement that pushed away a century of voter suppression in Georgia. You can encourage them to be active when their time comes.
Be proud of what you did. Without people like you, democracy doesn’t work and the country slips into a darker form of government that only represents the ultra rich. On behalf of the OPEIU Executive Board, thank you for your work. Our organization owes you a debt of gratitude for your work and your patriotism. In Unity, Richard Lanigan President Comments are closed.
